- Bridging Life and Academic Skills in After-school Programs: Ascertaining how fostering life skill development can improve academic outcomes for diverse youth.
- 4-H Youth Development Community Club: Fostering youth leadership and teaching life skills through adult volunteer extenders in after-school time.
- Teens 4 Teens: Fostering healthy living choices in teenagers through peer education.
Citizenship, Leadership and Life Skills Development 
The California 4-H Youth Developmeht Program (YDP) mission is to engage youth in reaching their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development. In California, the program serves over 46,000 youth by fostering citizenship, leadership and life skills development. Drawing on the rich 4-H history, in Alameda County the program builds strong partnerships and collaborates with other Youth Development agencies and uses the University research-based information to address key issues in the County.
