Special Projects

Many children are negatively impacted by an environment that undermines their ability to access food, eat and exercise properly. Our academic advisors and professional staff have developed comprehensive school-based and after-school activities for youth, as well as training materials for teachers and community based groups to improve the eating and physical activity behaviors of our youth.
The Nutrition Education Training Academy (NETA) links the University of California and Early Childhood Education Providers through technical assistance, training and resource materials in the areas of nutrition, food safety & sanitation, child feeding practices, gardening and physical activity.

California Children's Power Play! Campaign Program is designed to increase children's knowledge and consumption of fruits & vegetables by providing nutrition education to 9-11 year old children.
